Working together for more sustainability
Sustainable management is a guiding principle in the organisation and staging of the world's largest agricultural trade fair. As the organiser of AGRITECHNICA and SYSTEMS & COMPONENTS, the DLG therefore focuses on climate-, environment- and resource-friendly measures in its cooperation with partners, exhibitors and visitors. The focus is on energy, waste management, logistics, mobility and catering.
The cooperation with WeReforest, a programme of DLG e. V., that supports forest owners in the conversion and establishment of climate-stable, sustainable mixed forests, gives exhibitors and visitors the opportunity to reduce their ecological footprint.
Greenest trade fair grounds in the world
The trade fair grounds in Hanover cover 160,000 m² of lawn, 90,000 m² of wooded area and 3,824 trees.
94% recycling
Most of the waste generated during the event is recycled. Residual materials and hazardous waste are disposed of properly.
Certified food service*
Seasonal and regional catering, avoidance of disposable cutlery, recyclable and biodegradable packaging.
* According to ISO 14001 and ISO 50001
Intelligent transport and energy systems
Use of 100 % green electricity from hydropower (savings potential 18,000 t CO2 annually). Use of pure LED lighting in the exhibition halls by 2025.
Reusable materials
Largely reusable stand construction materials for the full-service stand construction offers, including LED lighting.
Paperless ticketing
Largely paperless service management for exhibitors and visitors.
What we can achieve together
We are committed to making SYSTEMS & COMPONENTS sustainable and enable exhibitors and visitors to actively participate in the reforestation and stabilisation of forests in Germany. With every regular ticket purchase and every exhibition space, you make a direct contribution to forest conversion:
- 1 € per visitor ticket sold goes directly to WeReforest's reforestation projects
- 0.50 € per m² of exhibition space sold goes directly to WeReforest's reforestation projects
The Green Ticket is another way to make your visit to the trade fair more climate-friendly. For a surcharge of €3, a tree is planted in one of the WeReforest projects for each of these tickets - locally, regionally and transparently in Germany.
How you can get involved
Every visit to the trade fair can have a positive impact on climate protection. In addition to buying a Green Ticket or making a voluntary donation, there are other ways to get actively involved:
- Use sustainable travel options: Travel by public transport or form car pools.
- Visit the WeReforest stand at AGRITECHNICA: find out more about sustainable forestry and be inspired.
- Spread the word and support: Tell others about WeReforest and its climate protection projects. With more visibility and reach, the programme can continue to grow, promote sustainable action and realise even more effective projects.
Through this commitment, AGRITECHNICA, together with its visitors and exhibitors, makes an important contribution to climate protection and nature conservation and contributes to the development of resilient, sustainable forests in Germany.
Every support helps to make our forests climate-stable and sustainable!
